Support Rep. Weiner as he tries to find the evil hacker!

I'm with Iowahawk. This can not go on. We need to encourage Rep. Weiner to prosecute the hacker to the fullest extent possible. Let's get serious with this.

Beautiful. Classic.

You know that there are somethings that have been around and will be around for years. This is one of them. If I had some extra cash just burning a hole in my pocket, I might be easily parted with it. I particularly like the color.

Summer - Just around the corner...

You know what that means. Cookouts in the backyard and sitting on the front porch as daylight lingers.
While on said front porch or backyard I enjoy a good cigar. Now I know what my next box of cigars will be.
After enjoying a PADRON at the wine festival this weekend, I have done some more research and believe that my next cigar will be this. I'll report back.

Shameful. Boehner, not Tea Party!

Sad to see that Republicans are complicit on National Debt and Raising the Debt Limit. It seems that the leadership of the Republican Party is more RINO than CIA (Conservative In Action). I have for years been withholding my support for Republicans that aren't CIA. I have a feeling that this will be a growing trend up through 2012. Good Luck and Good Riddance, RINOs!

What's "Fair" about the current tax system?

Constantly heard is that the top income earners must pay their "fair share." Just how is that determined? Who gets to say when it is fair enough? What's not fair about everybody paying the same rate? ...you get my point, I hope.
There is nothing fair about this.

Tipping Point?

According to the Tax Prof, we may have reached the tipping point: More takers than makers. To remedy this, I propose a simple change...If you don't pay, you don't play. Meaning of course, if you don't pay any Federal Income Tax, you don't get to vote in Federal Elections!
Why should somebody riding for free get to decide where the ship goes. It doesn't pass the sanity test.
Oh, and the change better come soon.

$12 Million will buy a lot of brown bags.

I don't get this. There has to be more to the story. Will update if more news becomes available

Finally Unravelling!

The myth of manmade global warming, global cooling, climate change, etc., is finally coming apart at the seams. It is a shame that it has had as long a run as it did. Good Riddance!

Snake and Mongoose, the Movie

I don't know a lot about Racing, but I remember these guys from my youth. I'm thinking it could be a pretty interesting story. Lots of noise and some quick runs down the track. What's not to like.

Peaceful Religion? You decide.

Tragic when you read about the brutality of some people. The article mentions that the state doesn't have a death penalty. My personal belief is that the appeals process if so long, and slow that many felons who receive the death penalty don't really serve as a deterrent for others.

Killing OBL won't bring back any of the lost heros.

Mike Spann to name but one. There are thousands who suffered unbearable pains because of one madman who couched his evil in religion.

If gas prices continue to rise...

...I may be needing to make some money. Here is a possibility.

And getting into shape as well.

Howie Carr is effective and funny

From my buddy at "Bulldog Blog"

"You can listen to Howie Carr at this link:

He gets on Fox News once in a while, but mostly he's a thorn in the side of Massachusetts politicians as a newspaper columnist and talk show host. He effective and funny, and the dems hate him. My kind of guy."

Proper Updates Forthcoming

Re: Facebook status updates...I'll work on it.

I wouldn't support somebody who didn't support me...

If I were attending the NRA Annual meeting in Philly, I wouldn't be supporting the locals in the area that were anti-2nd Ammendment. Here is a list of those to avoid.

Moveon.org...Shameless, really.

This link over at Legal Insurrection is a good example of just how broken some people are. I would be ashamed if I was to learn that my parents or children were acting this way.

Sometimes some opinions in NYT are worthwhile

I don't mind the New York Times when they, at rare moments, say something that I agree with. This opinion piece from Dick Cavett (ht Instapundit) makes sense to me. I've often wondered why the military chose to go the route of teaching "sensitivity" when the more militaristic route would have been to go the "insensitivity" route. Think about it, what a terrific killing machine would it be to have a military that was completely "insensitive."

Demand Atlas...

1. Go to this site...here. 2. Demand Atlas! You want Atlas Shrugged playing in a theater near you? This is how to do it. Click that "Demand Atlas!" button to the right, enter your zip code and e-mail address, and we're on our way to a theater near you. The more people "Demanding!" Atlas Shrugged, the better so, tell your friends. When done, move on to the next step...

There is still time...

...for other states to follow Arizons's lead (BRAVO) and require proof of citizenship before being included on the Presidential ballot in that state. This, of course, will likely be turned into a long drawn out affair where circuit courts, district courts and finally the U.S. Supreme Court will be called upon to determine the "legality." All of this is because one person won't sign one piece of paper. Shameful.

Home Invasion - Be Prepared

This kind of stuff is on the increase. Used to be that no one would even consider breaking into a home while it was occupied. At least I thought it was that way. I'm packing heat more and more these days. The world has gone crazy and I don't want to be telling myself the day after that I should have done this or done that. I would rather do this all the time.

Tax Day Rally! April 15, 2011

It's that time of year again. Tea Partiers Unite! Smaller Government, Less Regulation, Fiscal Responsibility, Lower Taxes, etc.
In Virginia Beach...information here.

So much for "not increasing your taxes!"

You knew that it was only a matter of time before the tired and worn out methods became all of a sudden fresh and new! It has been tried before. It has been a miserable failure. Alan says it better than I could here.

Good movies that reach out and grab you.

I'm going to look for my own. Yes, I want to find a movie introduction that catches me within the opening scene and doesn't let go until the end. It will be hard to beat a good James Bond introduction like this, or even a Jason Bourne movie. You can bet that it is going to be an action movie.
see intro for Goldfinger here.

FairTax...a beginning.

While I'm a big fan of the FairTax, I certainly like Instapundit's take on the proposal for a surtax on former government employees who get a big raise after departing the public sector for the private sector. See the post here. I invite all readers to read and understand the FairTax as it is described in Neal Boortz' and John Linder's prize winning book. It really is simple to understand and truly is "fair" as anything else suggested. Best of all is that it removes the ability of government to choose winners and losers in the market.

CARPE DIEM: Next Equal Occupational Fatality Day in 2022

This is now one of my favorite posts. For my liberated neighbor I will now print this in poster size and deliver to her door - Bypassing having to look at the Carter bumpersticker that still resides on her car. CARPE DIEM: Next Equal Occupational Fatality Day in 2022

"Tremendous Amount of Proof" does not equal "Birth Certificate"

"I think it's unfortunate -- he was born in Hawaii, there is a tremendous amount of proof that has already been presented," presidential sibling Maya Soetoro-Ng says on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight. "I think that it is time for people to put that to bed, put it to rest completely." Note that a "Certificate of Live Birth" is not acceptable in Hawaii as proof of citizenship for anything. There is a reason that "Birth Certificate" is called "Birth Certificate" and not "Certificate of Live Birth." All of this could be put to bed if only one man (0bama) made one phone call (chief of staff) or signed one piece of paper (release order). Something just doesn't smell right. More here and here. Also from the last link (Back to Basics)... "As Barry SOETORO a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama has blocked every attempt to release his long form birth certificate, spending and estimated two million dollars during the last three years to keep secret a one-page document that would verify parentage and place of birth, even the most hardened skeptics must be curious with regard to his reasoning. We would be remiss not to mention that Mr. SOETORO a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama has also blocked the release of numerous other records of his past, including but not limited to the following list: “Passport records, Obama kindergarten records, Punahou School records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, University of Chicago scholarly articles, Illinois State Bar Association records, Illinois State Senate records/schedules (said to be lost), Medical records, Obama/Dunham marriage license, Obama/Dunham divorce documents, Soetoro/Dunham marriage license, and adoption records.” (Source: http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.com/)" and finally, here, too! ...and a couple days later, here!

School Lunch...no matter what it tastes like!

I personally see this as the beginning of the end. True overreach by those who insist they have nothing but the best of intentions. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/education/ct-met-school-lunch-restrictions-041120110410,0,4567867.story I would walk right down to my doctor and write a note saying that little Johnny only likes the food that his mother makes...and it would hurt his "self-esteem" to be forced to eat the same crap as the other students...and that therefore he should have a medical waiver from having to eat the prepared food offered by the school! Really turn their rules against them! More here from Michelle, (Doug Powers, actually, but you get the idea.)

This makes a good case for why women should carry concealed.

Having a gun and not needing it is a bazillion times better than needing it and not having it.

Captain Renews NRA Membership

A good article about the dangers of compromise. Don't fall into the trap that both sides initial starting positions are equal and that a compromise is called for. Usually, a compromise is a disaster for both parties. http://www.captainsjournal.com/2011/04/03/i-renewed-my-nra-membership-today/

San Francisco becoming a child-free zone as youth population declines | Joshua Sabatini | Local | San Francisco Examiner

I often asked myself how could any parent could provide protection for their child in a city like San Francisco that seems to pride itself on being as deviant as possible...all of the time.
Reality is that no view, no weather, no ritzy restaurant is worth the misery of a child growing up without knowing what is acceptable in a society.

Flashcards...I like 'em.

Flashcards on Dictionary.com.
I'm not sure when they first appeared, but I am now making them part of my daily routine. I have always enjoyed word derivation and now Dictionary.com is making it amazingly easy and fun. You can add make your own set of flashcards or you can run through decks created by others. I can't promise that it will improve your vocabulary, but it certainly shouldn't hurt.
It seems to me to be a great way of teaching yourself or others.

Enjoy.
