Government Schools (aka Public Schools) are wasting a lot of our childrens' time. I've known for a long time that the focus of school isn't so much education as it is indoctrination - Indoctricnation into everything liberal. Unfortunately, liberalism isn't too keen on self-reliance or of individualism. The focus is on "group think," on "group identity" and government-reliance. This article is a good read and demonstrates how the engine, that was education, has left the tracks.

George Will Article
I'm usually about 50-50 with George Will. Every now and then, though, he knocks it out of the park. This is one of those articles, in my honest opinion.

Isn't this a little late? CTS Sports Wagon -
2010 Cadillac CTS Sports Wagon -
I'm thinking that Mercedes, BMW and Volvo have been doing the sports wagons for many years. And Chrysler/Dodge had one too, not so long ago.
What is new or different this time?
No new tax = a new fee; Unemployed = discouraged worker
As with so many items coming out of Washington these days, when you aren't happy with the way something actually is, just change the definition. This is more and more disturbing.

Things to bring camping...or everywhere for that matter.
These come in a number of sizes and the contents can vary. Find one that you feel comfortable with and learn to be creative.
You will be surprised at the number of times you find yourself needing something and these little kits have just what you need.
They also would have come in handy if you had ever been a contestant on Let's Make a Deal.

History has been made! Photo of molecule!!
Now this really is amazing. When you click on the link below, you will be taken to the first photograph of a molecule. It probably won't be long before there will be a photograph of an atom. Then it gets difficult...proton/neutron and finally, when they slow that little bugger down, the electron. This

I just wonder how tastes have changed over 9000 years. Quite a bit, I'm guessing. Anyway, I will try this beer if I see it at my local Total Wine. Anybody tasted it? Comment please.

Fake Hate - Agitprop
I wasn't aware of the word Agitprop until I saw the word used at Neptunus Lex but after looking it up and reading the following two links, I am a firm believer that it is being used in force these days.

Peace Plan in the Middle East? Yeah, this time it's for real!
At some point you have to ask yourself, "Haven't I heard this before?"
What could possibly be different in this "Peace Plan?"
With Victory comes Peace...and since the President is not too comfortable with the word "victory" I don't give his plan for peace much hope.

1984?
Let's talk language. Different than speech, but also protected.
You can write what you want. At least in theory.
You can say what you want. As long as you are comfortable in your word choice and can twist the meaning of the word "is."
So, it pains me to see actions like those being taken all over the world.
LINK:

I have often wondered if somebody could argue that the word they were screaming at volume after hitting their thumb with a hammer was, in fact, "PHUCK!"

Living Pictures
You may have seen these pictures before.
The Statue of Liberty formed with the bodies of thousands of citizens,
The Liberty Bell constituted from a like amount of freedom lovers,
and the American Eagle amazingly fashioned from 1 Trillion Americans.
Well, you get the idea. The making of these photographs are an amazing example of what can happen when people get together and work together for a common goal. The individuals are nameless, but when you look closely, you can see they are resolute in their wanting to be a part of something lasting.

Geocaching. A new twist on "letterboxing"
Okay, first there was "letterboxing". I believe it started in Britain. A few clues would be left as to the whereabouts of an item. Sometimes the clues would lead you to another clue and then another. Eventually you would find the item if you thought long and hard enough.
Now there is "geocaching". It sounds like a lot of fun. If you are looking for something to do on a weekend, give it a try. Once you get out and see the countryside (or the city) you will remember just how much fun it is to explore.

Ummm, What's that?
Say What?
I'm a big supporter of open carry. I believe that an armed society is a polite society. I also believe that criminals (by definition) break laws, so passing laws to restrict guns only affects law abiding citizens. Who can argue with the logic. There are some that say, "Well, if you have a gun on your side, you are likely to overreact and shoot somebody." I counter that with, "Well, how about if I am being attacked by a 6'8" 350 lb killer, how do I stay alive?"
My friend, Chop, sent me a bunch of slogans fit for bumperstickers. I like them.
1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.
2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.
3. Colt: The original point and click interface.
4. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.
5. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords?
6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.
7. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.

ACLU shows GITMO detainees photographs of CIA agents.
This is enough to get you very, very upset. The idea that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has been working against covert CIA agents of the United States is traitorous. I hope that the American people will wake up and understand that this organization has been working against American Freedom for years and should be shut down.

Shorpy - Office Xmas Party: 1925
I love looking at the high quality photographs from the past. You can imagine the world where the photo captures peoples' hopes, aspirations, thoughts, desires. Just amazing that you can read so much by a person's eyes.
This is just an amazing photograph of what a real Christmas party can look like. Makes me wonder about every person here. What they were thinking...if they wanted to be at the party...where their minds actually were.
Enjoy

David Axelrod writes a letter for the White House - Reality Check
Dear Friend,
Anyone that's watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic — and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, it's time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.
That's why we've launched a new online resource — WhiteHouse.gov/RealityCheck — to help you separate fact from fiction and share the truth about health insurance reform. Here's a few of the reality check videos you can find on the site:There's more information and a number of online tools you can use to spread the truth among your family, friends and other social networks. Take a look:
- CEA Chair Christina Romer details how health insurance reform will impact small businesses.
- Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes tackles a nasty rumor about euthanasia and clearly describes how reform helps families.
- Matt Flavin, the White House's Director of Veterans and Wounded Warrior Policy, clears the air about Veteran's benefits.
- Kavita Patel, M.D., a doctor serving in the White House's Office of Public Engagement, explains that health care rationing is happening right now and how reform gives control back to patients and doctors.
- Bob Kocher, M.D., a doctor serving on the National Economic Council, debunks the myth that health insurance reform will be financed by cutting Medicare benefits.
We knew going into this effort that accomplishing comprehensive health insurance reform wasn't going to be easy. Achieving real change never is. The entrenched interests that benefit from the status quo always use their influence in Washington to try and keep things just as they are.
But don't be misled. We know the status quo is unsustainable. If we do nothing, millions more Americans will be denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions, or see their coverage suddenly dropped if they become seriously ill. Out-of-pocket expenses will continue to soar, and more and more families and businesses will be forced to deal with health insurance costs they can't afford.
That's the reality.
Americans deserve better. You deserve a health care system that works as well for you as it does for the status quo; one you can depend on — that won't deny you coverage when you need it most or charge you crippling out-of-pocket co-pays. Health insurance reform means guaranteeing the health care security and stability you deserve.
President Barack Obama promised he'd bring change to Washington and fix our broken, unsustainable health insurance system. You can help deliver that change. Visit WhiteHouse.gov/RealityCheck, get the facts and spread the truth. The stakes are just too high to do nothing.
Thank you,
David

This could be bigger than Hope and Change
I still marvel at the ability of people to produce such great products with Photoshop. I have tried, regrettably on limited powered free versions, to make something that is passable as art, but have been disappointed with the final product.
The artist here, currently unnamed, is a genius. The ability to hit with speed, power and simplicity of message are all tenants of good advertising.
Remaining unnamed at this point just makes the message that much more intriguing.
