So very true...Playgrounds aren't any fun anymore

I made a comment to my daughter the other day that, "We didn't have woodchips underneath our swings. We had sand...and sandspurs!"
You can't find a good "spinning wheels" or small merry-go-round that you can get dizzy on anymore. Those things, as I remember, could get spinning at breakneck speeds - so fast that you were afraid to get off.
Yes, it was TORTURE!

Bad Choice for Supreme Court

Just initial impressions from the audio and video out on the street today, but the choice of Judge Sotomayor doesn't impress me.

She seems angry, bigotted and is quoted as saying that the Court of Appeals is where policy is made. The very definition of activism.

I'm for blind justice - where everybody has a fair chance - not for empathy - where the best story wins.

In twenty years...

I hope the United States of America lasts that long...

From what I know from history, our path seems eerily similar to past civilizations.

"Independence" in the Style of Motivational Posters

Okay, you all have seen the style of the Motivational Posters and the Demotivational Posters that followed.

This one is my favorite:

The quote, if you can't read it here is, "I wold never invade the United States. There would be a gun behind every blade of grass." --Isoroku Yamamoto

I hope that this remains the case.

Drug Decriminalization is not the same as Drug Legalization.

An old buddy with remarkable insight once suggested that drug addicts should be put in a room with unlimited supply of their drug of choice and given the option to either stay, and remain addicted forever...or leave, and again that choice would be forever...any further falling back would be met with swift justice.

I think that Portugal may be on to something here as described in the Cato Institute document. It makes a point that drug trafficking is still a crime, but possession of personal amounts is not.

This seems to be a reasonable action to take.

Car Voucher - YES....School Voucher - NO!

This post is most telling. On the same day that the popular school voucher program in D.C. is given a termination date, Congress approves a voucher for cars!

Thie really shows what Congress thinks about your child's education!

Yoga - Funny Yoga Business Card

Well, I did it. Yes, I went to a yoga class last night. I actually had a great time and the class seems to have helped my stiff back.

I'm going back next Monday so we'll see it is a lasting benefit. I hope it is.

In my search for some yoga information, I ran across this business card that I thought was kind of fun.

These are the dangerous people!!!

Department of Homeland Security issues a "Domestic Extremism Lexicon" ---for a government that doesn't like profiling or stereotyping, the new OBAMA administration is surely doing a lot of it!

Supposedly for the Worker...Why not oppose Amnesty?!

I just don't understand the Democrats sometimes. They have a good thing going right now with the blind support of the media, so why not make some hay I guess.

What I don't get is why the Left (Democrats) continue to support Amnesty which has been proven to reduce the pay of honest Americans. This they accomplish all while saying that they support the worker more so than the evil, rich, biggoted, racist Republicans.
Blogger Roy Beck has a good column. Link below.

The facts support holding tight on our borders and only allowing the best to imigrate...whereever they are coming from. Opening the floodgate and saying, "come legally or not!" is not the right thing...especially during a recession.
