Peaceful Religion? You decide.

Tragic when you read about the brutality of some people. The article mentions that the state doesn't have a death penalty. My personal belief is that the appeals process if so long, and slow that many felons who receive the death penalty don't really serve as a deterrent for others.

DRT...because the little lady was packing.

This could have turned out much differently if a gun had not been present.
Way to go. Dead Right There...DRT. Excellent.

There are probably more like this than you think

Cops. Policemen. Fuz. Often people shun them because of the power of arrest. In actuality, law-abiding citizens should interact with and welcome police in their midst. Imagine a world without enforcers of the law. Think "Lord of the Flies" on steroids.
This story, from The Survival Spot Blog, is probably a better description of the typical police officer.

Touching.

Drug Decriminalization is not the same as Drug Legalization.

An old buddy with remarkable insight once suggested that drug addicts should be put in a room with unlimited supply of their drug of choice and given the option to either stay, and remain addicted forever...or leave, and again that choice would be forever...any further falling back would be met with swift justice.

I think that Portugal may be on to something here as described in the Cato Institute document. It makes a point that drug trafficking is still a crime, but possession of personal amounts is not.

This seems to be a reasonable action to take.
